Ectopic Pregnancy

Lynette's Story

I had my tubes tied during my first marriage when my husband didn't want any more kids. He left me a year later. I had my tubes reversed several years ago when I married my husband, who brought me into the church. We wanted children together so badly. In one year, I had three miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy, which resulted in the loss of the only good tube I had left.

That was six years ago, and the yearning for a child is still there. Now I am 41 and have little hope of having another child. My younger sister also had an ectopic and only has one tube left. She has successfully had three children. I am so happy for her. My husband and I tried adoption, and that was even more heart-wrenching than the ectopic and miscarriages. We were chosen by a birth mother to adopt her baby boy when he was born. As the time neared for his birth, the Spirit told my husband and I very clearly that this child belonged to another family, and we had to turn him down. My heart at that point could no longer take another loss of any kind.

I am hoping someday my two older daughters will have children and I can enjoy the thrill of being a grandmother. I know the Lord knows what is best for each of us, but the loss of a child really tried my testimony and my faith. I am over this now, and have a clearer view of things now that my heart has healed a bit. I love the Lord and thank him for all that I have. I am truly blessed.
