I, my ever-loving husband and soulmate, and our six children (yes, I said 6) are all active, practicing members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I was born in Maryland and raised in Hollister, California. We have lived in Hood River, Oregon and Auburn, Washington, two of my favorite spots in the world. Our 13 years in Jackson County, Missouri sparked my interest in writing a trilogy using apocalyptic events set in the Midwest. We now live in the San Fransisco Bay Area. I travel for speaking engagements and music performances when expenses are met.

I am also a singer-songwriter, and perform locally at various open mics and gigs.

I have many other interests, including drawing, painting, photography, thread crochet, yoga, animals and animal rights, cats, dogs especially Keeshonden, travel, music and live concerts in most all genres, and of course reading--especially science fiction. I have a passion for theater, film, and comedy improv. Unusual fact: It's rare for me to watch a movie or book more than once. My favorite authors include J.R.R. Tolkein, Madeleine L'Engle, Orson Scott Card, Anne Tyler, Andre Norton, William Shakespeare, Toni Morrison, Charles Dickens, and Anne McCaffrey. My favorite songwriters include Carly Simon, Paul Simon, Amy Grant, Sandi Patty, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, Brian May, Kurt Cobain, Robert Plant, and Jimmy Page, not really in that order, but that's about the order in which I discovered them.
