Here is my rating system:
5 Stars!!!-Incredible anime, don't miss this. Has great plot, animation, everything about it is sweet.
4 & 1/2 Stars-These are definitely worth checking out and are almost 5's, but only the best anime gets a 5 star rating.
4 Stars-Very good anime still worth buying. These are anime other people might consider 4 & 1/2 or 5 Stars so check'em out.
3 Stars-Good anime has cool parts worth renting first.
2 Stars-Your taking your chances with these, maybe the previews looked good but the anime isn't.
1 Star-Avoid these like the plague!!! (there aren't many) Remember these are my opinions, so try different anime out, because you may like what I don't.

Furi Kuri (FLCL) - 5 Stars!!!
Ever had one of those days where you were fooling around with your older brother's high school girlfriend, you get run over by a supped up scooter, some crazy girl smacks you in the face with a bass guitar, and then two robots pop out of your head? No? This just gives you a little taste of how fast moving and crazy this series is, and that's just the first episode. That is also what makes this series so cool. Great animation, an awesome soundtrack (by the Pillows if you're interested), and a very strange and confusing story. It's everything you could hope for in an anime. Check it out!!!!!

Here she becomes the Suzaka no Miko and must gather the 7 warriors of Suzakato save the country of Konan and make a wish to go back home. Hana Yori Dango - 5 Stars
Tsukushi Makino is a girl from normal humble surroundings, who's parents get her into a school for the rich to hook her up with a rich guy and have them set for life. While not trying to stand out too much, she accidently picks a fight with the F4 (who are the 4 richest and most popular guys in school). With the F4 and the whole school against her she fights for equality with people who she dosen't fit in with, and the more she fights with the F4, especially Domiyoji, the more they warm up to her. Will Makino be absorbed by this new social status, or is it all an illusion. I didn't know shojo anime could be so good untill I saw Hana Yori Dango. Incredible series definately check it out. Initial D - 5 Stars
An anime that inspired such games as Gran Turismo and Tokyo Extreme Racer. Takumi is a high schooler with an incredible driving ability. With this Hachi-Roku (86 Corolla) he dominates cars on a downhill mountain course near his house. His friends from school belong to a race team named the Akina Speedstars and they aren't the greatest drivers in the world. With the Speed stars getting challenged by other race teams Takumi must constantly bail them out and race which he dosen't even like to do. This is fastly becoming one of my favorite series. All the cars that race are computer animated so it looks like Gran Turismo. I thought the series would get boring just being a different race team challenging Takumi every couple of episodes, but the series gets better with every race. Definitely check this series out if you're a fan of cars and racing. Even if you're not, just check it out because it's a cool series. (fansub)

Irresponsible Captain Tylor - 4 Stars
Meet Justy Tylor about the laziest human on the earth. He joins earth's space fleet thinking that he is in store for the easy life, and some how ends up as the captain of the battle cruiser Soyokaze. This series will crack you up as his crew tries many mutinies, his own superiors try to kill him off, and he has the enemy after him because they think he's a military genius. This series is very comical and gets a little serious towards the end. Over all it's a great series, definately a great series. (US release)

Kodomo no Omacha - 5 Stars
No other anime character has more energy than Sana (main character), it's not possible. Kodomo no Omacha focuses around Sana's life as a child TV star on the show "Child's Toy", and her life in grade school. Whether she's battling her arch nemesis Hayame at school, hanging at home with her mom and Maro-chan, or being dragged to commercials by her manager Rei-kun, you'll laugh at all the misadventures she encounters, and be amazed that she still has envergy to sing or rap a hilarious song about whatever is going on in the episode. This is one of the funniest animes out there. It dosen't stay serious for more than 5 minutes, but somehow manages to keep a steady and good plot, also has one of the best opening songs. Definately check it out. (fansub)

Legend of Basara - 4 1/2 Stars
In the future Japan goes back to it's feudal ways when technology is lost. Tatara (boy) and Sarasa (girl) are twins born in a small village in the Red kingdom. Tatara is destined to unite Japan and lead them to a better future. The Red king is threatened by this of course so he slaughters the village and kills Tatara. Seeing everyone losing hope Sarasa cuts her hair and claims to be Tatara, saying it was Sarasa that was killed. With that the peole have hope again and they rally around Tatara as she goes from kingdom to kingdom collecting valuable allies with which to battle against the Red, Blue, Black, and White kingdoms and ultimately the Emperor. I loved everything about this series. Incredible story, very well drawn, you love the characters, this had the makings of another Lodoss War, and it was cancelled after only 13 episodes! The manga goes much further if you want to see more (which you will). Even though the series is short it's still worth seeing.

Marmalade Boy - 4 1/2 Stars
Miki is thrust into a very strange situation. Her parents and another married couple decide they want to switch partners and all live together. To make matters worse she's gotta thing for the other married couples son Yuu. With love triangles between her and everyone around her, and a situation at home worthy of the Jerry Springer show, Marmalade Boy will keep you wondering just what will happen the next episode. This anime is very very well drawn, it looks like an OVA even though it's 70+ episodes long. Good combination of comedy and drama, plus it has that addictive quality that makes you want to see more. If you like Hana Yori Dango definately check this one out. (fansub)
