                                                                    "August 1981 to November 11, 1998"

Fred the Cat died after 17 years on the planet earth. He began his life in Seattle Washington in a house on 65th street. We got Fred from a girl named Dana who lived with Marta, Blake, and Theresa.

Fred moved into our house on 55th and 52nd and began his legacy of ineptness and apparent lack if intelligence. It was not until Krista was born 6/11/85 that we understood Fred's true purpose in life, to be a kids cat. Krista of course pulled and yanked Fred's hair and tail. Fred never scratched or bit her. He just laid there with a disgusted look on his face.  He was a trooper.

Fred was injured in 1983.  The Vet said that it looked like he had simply fallen from a tree.  It cost us $600.00 of money we didn't have.  But, after all, it was for good old Fred.  Who could put a cat like that to sleep?  After surgery, Fred was as good as new.

Fred moved to Boise in August 1986. He really didn't like Boise at first (it was very hot that 1st summer) but he adopted in his usual laid back manner.  When Chelsea (May 10, 1988) and Sierra (April 11, 1990) were born, he remained the same, calm and collective.  He loved the attention from the kids.  He was dependable, no suprises with old Fred.

Thoughts From Sierra:

  • "I loved Fred because he was nice to me. He never bit me or scratched me. He always slept in his box with Squeaky.  He was my friend".

Thoughts From Chelsea:

  • I loved the color of Fred's fur.  I loved it when he ate salad.  When you shook the food in a bowl he would run up to you.  I loved it when he never scratched or bit me.  When he came inside he never tried to get Poopsee."

Fred, thanks for the memories.
