The Web Arm of R&D and Community Involvement

Meeting the needs of our friends downtown can really stretch our resources at times. It is when the larger body of Christ comes together to that we realize that  En Christo cannot function without the help of our brothers and sisters around the campus, in the Spokane community and beyond.

We are fortunate that Marriott Food Service of Whitworth College has been kind enough to provide us the materials for the sack lunches at cost. We also have the Union Gospel Mission of Spokane to thank for their donation of the muffins and deserts which go into the lunches each week.  As a result, for $0.75 we are able to provide the following: one meat and cheese sandwich wrapped in poly vinyl film, a packet of mustard and mayonnaise, one apple/orange, a wrapped dessert, napkin, Bible verse, and paper sack.

Here are some usual needs of Discipleship and En Christo in general.

Summer Needs

The ministry is in need of a core group of individuals who would be willing to commit themselves to 80+% of the summer's schedule. They will provide consistency for the teams on each floor, providing experience and a continuing relationship with the residents downtown. Please consider and pray for this need.

Do you feel called to play a part in En Christo this summer (large or small)?

Let me know.

Current Needs (lend, donate, or volunteer)

BIBLES - If you have extra, old bibles, children's bibles; we would love to get your donations.  Scripture on cassette or CD are occasionally very useful for those who are reading impaired.

Ongoing Needs (donations)

Cooking utensils, pots/pans
Linen/bedding
Funding - one of our primary  sources of funds has been threatened due to the restructuring of the way meals are now purchased at Whitworth. We expect a dramatic cut in donated unused meals.

Long-term Miracles

Donated weekly grocery allowance/stipend (rarely exceeds $30 any one week, total)
Van to provide student transportation to/from downtown on Saturdays.  We don't always have a student over 21 with a WA drivers license to drive a church van.
Partnership/sponsorship with local businesses
Spawning of other  "En Christo Chapters" at other College Campuses

If you would like to help fund the work of En Christo with a monetary donation, you can make out a tax deductible check to:
