Here are some links to other writers who are working hard, writing a lot, and enjoying the fruits of their labors.
Talented, funny and smart, Darla Worden is another friend who happens to be a terrific writer. She is the author of one
of my favorite novels,
Road Shoes. I highly recommend this book about gardening magazine editor Laura Von Baden who hopes to transform 40 acres of Colorado
land with her new husband. Darla is currently completing her much-anticipated second novel.
Irene Rawlings is the editor of Mountain Living and Log & Timber Style magazine, and the co-author
of The Clothesline book. This charming volume offers "time-tested secrets for refreshing the laundry-day routine," and I love it because it
reminds me of the pleasures of simple tasks like hanging damp clothes on the line. Irene is also the co-author, with writer
Mary Abel, of a book about portable dwellings (see below).
Pat Miller is best known by her nickname, The Gabby Gourmet. Colorado's resident restaurant expert, Gabby is the author of The Gabby Gourmet Restaurant Guide, and she hosts
her own restaurant show that can be heard in the Denver metro area on Saturday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. on KHOW, AM 630.
She also writes restaurant reviews for Colorado Expression magazine.
Mary Abel is the co-author of the book, Portable Houses. This fantastic dream book has dozens of dwellings that will inspire you to move about in style, including a beautifully renovated
train car, a simple but elegant tepee, several fun trailers with plenty of personality, and even a tricked-out school bus.
Mary was formerly the managing editor of Mountain Living and Log & Timber Style magazine.
