received his undergraduate degree in cello performance from Oberlin College, where he studied with Andor Toth, Jr. and Vagram Saradjian. He is currently a graduate student at Bowling Green State University, where he is a member of the Graduate String Quartet and studies cello with Alan Smith.
His repertoire reflects an interest in works of this century, and includes works by Britten, Kodaly, Martinu, Kabalevsky, Barber, Ginastera, Ligeti, Mayuzumi, and Crumb. At Oberlin, he was a member of the Contemporary Music Ensemble, and he recently performed at Bowling Green with faculty chamber ensembles as part of the New Music and Art Festival, sponsored by the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music. Mr. Stenstrom has attended the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the National Orchestral Institute, and is a member of the Adrian Symphony Orchestra.
