Meridian Psychotherapy Center provides individual, couple and family therapy for the San Francisco Bay Area community. We serve clients from San Francisco, Marin, Berkeley, Oakland, San Mateo and the Peninsula during regular business hours, evenings and weekends. Conveniently located at 2120 Market Street at Church Street in the Upper Market neighborhood of San Francisco, we are accessible by all the Muni train lines as well as the above-ground F line and the 22 bus line.
Meridian is a group of independently-practicing licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and has been operating since May, 1995. Prior to forming Meridian we each worked in several Bay Area counseling clinics and community mental health agencies. These unique experiences have afforded us the opportunity to work with a diverse client group in terms of gender, ethnicity, age and sexual orientation.
As a group, our wide range of life experience and training have led us to practice various approaches to psychotherapy, always bearing in mind the particular needs of the client. A common thread for all of us is our emphasis on providing an empathic therapy: We seek to help clients recognize and remove the emotional and psychological obstacles in their lives that keep them feeling stuck, dissatisfied and powerless. Regardless of approach, the underlying goal is for clients to find the keys that will allow them to mobilize change in themselves and their lives.

Meridian therapists have also been trained in a developmental model of couples therapy, hypnotherapy, body-oriented psychotherapy and sand tray. In addition, we encourage the use of adjunctive resources such as 12-step work, writing exercises or bodywork to broaden the scope of work and provide additional tools for change.
Our fees are market competitive and vary from therapist to therapist. We welcome all sexual/gender orientations. All members of Meridian are gay/lesbian-positive and seek to provide culturally competent services for the diverse community of the Bay Area.
