Colophon This site was composed using Netscape
Composer, versions 4.05 et seq., with too much tweaking by
hand using the old-fashioned text editor Brief.
The Java applet code was written using Sun Microsystem's JDK 1.0.2. Many of the illustrations were borrowed, with deep thanks, from various volumes in Dover Publication's Ready-to-use ... series of clip-art books. Illustrations were scanned using a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 500Ce scanner, and were modified using Micrographic's Picture Publisher 8, which was also used to create the buttons. Intelligent people don't have to be told that this page is replete with trademarks, registered and otherwise, and that they are the property of their respective owners. Use of these products does not constitute endorsement by the
author, the family, or the country at large. They were the
tools at hand, and proved adequate (some barely) to the task My
true opinions are too forceful for delicate ears or PR managers.
About the Author:I am Jim (James6 Howell) son of Jay (J.R.5) and Jayne (Clara6 Epley) Howell, and a direct descendant of Jordan1 Howell and Mary1 Osborn. I am currently a software developer, after careers as a radar repairman and geologist/paleontologist.
