Riddle

Horse & Rider The genealogy says nothing about the origins of Charles1 and Christina1 Riddle, except that most of their children were born in Chatham Co., North Carolina.  The capsule biography of Joseph Howell [Goodspeed 1888] states that the Riddles came from Scotland. All the genealogical and census information shows the family was in North Carolina (Chatham Co.) until 1830, at least. But the grandfather of Charles Riddle may be a Scots/Irish immigrant.

Scribble, scribble, scribbleMuch more to come here. The Riddle and Howell families have been closely associated with each other since Hardin county. Their backtrail is interesting, too, leading to Southside and Tidewater Virginia in Colonial times.
