Transformers US TV Timeline

This is the original timeline that I did to try to show how Robots In Disguise could fit in standard Transformers continuity, by way of an alternate history being created between Beast Wars and Beast Machines. Since it was originally written, others have stolen from it for their own similar timelines. -- isoner

At some point in history Autobots and Decepticons lived in peace.

The Decepticon leader Megatron appeared and he lead the Decepticons in a Revolution against the Autobots. The battles began with small strikes.

Orion Pax was injured during one of Megatron's strikes, but was rescued by Aerialbots who came from the future. They took him to Alpha Trion who rebuilt Orion Pax into Optimus Prime. The humility Orion Pax learned from his ordeal with Megatron greatly influenced the personality of Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime became the new leader of the Autobots, and turned them into an army capable of fighting Megatron. The fight grew into an all-out war.

By about 4 million BC, the war of attrition between the Autobots and Decepticons has used up virtually all of Cybertron's energy. Optimus Prime assembles a crew aboard a ship called the Ark and leaves the planet in search of another source of energy. Megatron follows and attacks the Ark, which crashes on Earth with all aboard being knocked offline (Stasis Lock).

In 1984 the Transformers are reactivated.

Optimus Prime and Megatron start the Great War with the Autobots fighting the Decepticons over Earth's Resources.

The war lasts several years, during which the Humans establish strong ties with the Autobots. Also during the war the Dinobots, Aerialbots, Combaticons, Stunticons, and other Transformers are given life.

Somewhere around the 1990’s the Decepticons apparently abandon their attempts to conquer Earth, and instead completely conquer Cybertron. Meanwhile, the Autobots strengthen their position on Earth by building a City.

In 2005 the Autobots and Humans, from secret bases on two of Cybertron's moons, and Autobot City on Earth, plan to take back Cybertron. The plans are waylaid by the coming of Unicron.

Beginning in 2006 Rodimus Prime takes command of the Autobots, and protects Cybertron and Earth from Galvatron and the Decepticons. A previously unknown subgroup comes to the forefront called the Predicons.

Head and Target Masters are developed by both the Autobots and Decepticons allowing them to bond with humans, and other similar races. This begins a period of miniaturization, concluding with the development of Micromasters.

Somewhere around 2200 the Predicons have embraced the Micromaster concept and greatly increased their numbers, so that the Decepticons effectively died out, retired, or upgraded to the new Micromaster Predicon format. The same thing was happening to the Autobots, only they were being replaced with the Micromaster subgroup Maximals.

Around 2300, a Predicon General calling himself Megatron stole a Golden Disk containing instructions from Megatron of the past. He followed those instructions which led him and the following Maximal ship commanded by Optimus Primal to...

Earth: 3 Million BC. On the prehistoric Earth, the century’s old truce is broken and Maximal and Predicon begin the Beast Wars.

During the Beast Wars, Optimus Primal upgraded himself when be temporally bonded with Optimus Prime in an attempt to save the Autobot's life. Megatron steals the Spark of the original Megatron in hopes of improving himself in the same way Primal did.

Megatron looses the Beast Wars, and is captured by Primal. Primal decides not to risk damaging the original Megatron's Spark by forcing the Predicon Megatron to return it involuntarily. He elects instead to return to Cybertron of 2300, with plans to return immediately with a clean up crew to remove all traces of their presence in prehistoric Earth and return Megatron's spark.

(Special Note: While this author is aware of the scene that shows BW Megatron returning the spark of G1 Megatron exists, since it was cut and not shown to general audiences it thus becomes irreverent)

On the way back to Cybertron, Megatron escapes. It then becomes impossible to return the Original Megatron's Spark.

TIMESTORM (History Resets)

At some point in history Autobots and Decepticons lived in peace.

The Decepticon leader Megatron appeared and he lead the Decepticons in a Revolution against the Autobots. The battles began with small strikes.

Since there were no Aerialbots to same him, Orion Pax was killed by Megatron. In an act of desperation to save the Autobots, Alpha Trion used Vector Sigma and the body of Orion Pax and his friend Dion to build two new Autobots, Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus. Prime's new personality was founded on righteousness.

Optimus Prime became the new leader of the Autobots, and turned them into an army capable of fighting Megatron. The fight grew into an all out war.

In 1984 the Transformers are reactivated, except for Megatron, who apparently died instead of entering Stasis.

Optimus Prime and Starscream start the Great War with the Autobots fighting the Decepticons over Earth's Resources.

The war is not very long. After several fights on Earth, Optimus Prime forces Starscream and the Decepticons to retreat off of Earth, and eventually off of Cybertron. Eventually, aside from a few subgroups, like the Predicons, the Decepticons become Extinct.

Despite his attempts, Optimus Prime is not able to establish close ties with very many humans, but he and several other Autobots elect to stay on Earth to protect it. To better facilitate this, the Autobots choose new Transformation modes, and effectively go into hiding, while secretly establishing bases and an underground road network.

The Predicons, under the leadership of a Predicon Emperor called Megatron, attack Earth, forcing Optimus Prime and his Autobots to reveal themselves once again to save their adopted planet. During the war, Megatron creates a new race of Transformers, he calls Decepticons. Megatron undergoes a significant power upgrade and becomes Galvatron. Galvatron and his Predicons are defeated and imprisoned.

In 2005 Cybertron is attacked by Unicron, who is defeated by the Binary Matrix of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus.

Eventually a process of miniaturization is developed leading to the development of Micromasters.

By at least 2200 the Predicons have embraced the Micromaster concept and greatly increased their numbers, the new Decepticons fall by the wayside. The same thing was happening to the Autobots, only they were being replaced with a Micromaster subgroup called the Maximals.

(Note: the Beast Wars played out basically the same as they did before, except that Primal and Rhinox had not been raised with tales of the Great War, so their personalities were rather different. Primal was still looking for a cause to embrace, and Rhinox no longer had as strong a Moral upbringing.)

Megatron looses the Beast Wars, and is captured, along with Waspinator, by Primal. He elects to return to Cybertron of 2300, with plans to return immediately with a clean up crew to remove all traces of their presence in the past.

On the way back to Cybertron, Megatron escapes.

Megatron arrives on Cybertron ahead of the Maximals. The personality of the Original Megatron begins to leak through to Megatron, the incompatibilities in their methods of thinking, and philosophies drive Megatron insane. While before Megatron used to enjoy using other life forms to suit his own ends, he now saw them as a blight on the universe, and none worse than organic life forms. Using the combined scientific skills of both Megatrons, he creates a plague that wipes out virtually all life on Cybertron. But, instead of killing them all, he stores their sparks incase he should need them.

Optimus Primal and his crew arrive on Cybertron, with their captive Waspinator, and are all infected with the plague.

Primal and some of his crew are "reformated" by the Oracle to save them from the plague.

Primal embraces the Oracles ideals wholeheartedly, becoming a zealot as he fights back against Megaton. During their last battle with each other, all of the Sparks are consumed by Megatron, and all of Primal's and Megatron's troops are killed/absorbed. Primal then attacks Megatron, in an attempt to reformat him. Both fall into the core of Cybertron, thereby formatting the planet itself.

For several moments, the entire Transformer race is extinct.

The Reformatted Techno-organic planet recreates the Transformers.

The Universe now waits for the next chapter of the Transformers to be written amongst the stars.

(At least until the next show comes along that totally ignores all previously established continuity in the name of quick and easy plots. Let us hope that those who direct said show remember and respect those who came before...)
