You may chose to have certain problems appear on your Problem Overview by subscribing to a view that includes these problems.
Once a TIAS client subscribes to a view, the TIAS server sends instances of the selected problems to that client.
The problems you define in TIAS determine which events the TIAS server identifies as problems. Once you define a problem, any TIAS client can define a view which includes it.
The Problem Definitions dialog box
| if Logging is set to: | the TIAS server: |
| log events | sends logs associated with the problem to the TIAS client |
| none | does not send logs associated with the problem to the TIAS client |
| log & archive events | sends logs associated with the problem to the TIAS client and stores them in the database for retrieval |
If the problem you are defining is likely to involve a large number of event messages, it might be a good idea to set Logging to False. This will avoid flooding the TIAS client with log messages.
| if Active is set to: | the TIAS server: |
| False | does not monitor events to check for the problem. |
| True | monitors events to check for the problem. |
