The TIAS Problem Overview window


The TIAS Problem Overview window shows a list of current problem instances. If you want detailed information about a certain problem instance (and logging is enabled for that problem) you can select it and view the logs. You can also view the definition of the problem, and, if they exist, recommendations about handling the problem.

Problem Instance Count The number of problems in the current problem overview

Columns:
Start Time The date and time the problem instance was first recognized
Severity A color name indicates the severity of the problem.
In order of most to least severe, the colors are:
·red
·orange
·yellow
·blue
·green
Category The category of problem
Problem The name of the problem definition
Instance Name A unique identifier for the problem instance
Details Additional information about the problem instance

How to change the style of the Problem Overview window

By default, the Problem Overview lists problem instances in order of the time they were compiled by the server. You can chose to view the problem instances according to their severity.

To view the problem instances by severity, select Group by Severity from the Style pull-down menu.

How to enable warning sounds on the Problem Overview window

Warning sounds are available to alert you to changes to the list of problem instances. To enable these sounds, click on the Sound menu. Sounds are available to alert you to the following changes.

begin indicates that a new problem instance has arrived
update indicates that the window has been updated
end indicates that a problem instance has been removed from the list

Click on the sound to enable it. A check mark appears. Click on sound again to disable it.
