Coming soon... more pictures, current page is a place holder till I figure out what I'm doing. For now, my first attempt at digital astrophotography.
Equipment:
Nikon Coolpix 995 digital camera
Celestron C8 Schmidt Cassegrain telescope (about 13 years old, it has a worm clock drive but no fancy computers...)
Plossl 36 mm eyepiece (wide angle)
No adapter yet, I simply stuck the camera as close to the eyepiece as possible.
First target was the Moon. Waxing gibbous, so not a lot of crater-shadow detail, but the results are pretty good considering my low tech approach!
I will order an adapter that attaches my camera directly to the 'scope. That should produce much better images, and I might even turn on the clock drive next time.
