Mrs. Brown

Curtains closed it's been three weeks since anyone has seen a soul
Just a light keeping vigil in a second story room
And the mailman pushes letters in the overcrowded box
Do you think that everything they say is true

And I heard someone say Mrs. Brown had gone away
But I don't know ...
Hey Mrs. Brown where did you go ...

Thought I saw her buying groceries at the store around the block
As I approached she quickly turned and walked the other way
I tried to see what she had hidden in her cart
But when I turned the corner she was gone

And I heard someone say Mrs. Brown had gone away
But I don't know ...
Hey Mrs. Brown where did you go ... Mrs. Brown where did you go ... Mrs. Brown

And I heard someone say they had taken her away
But I don't know ...
Hey Mrs. Brown where did you go ... Mrs. Brown

And her neighbor said the backyard grass was nearly a foot high
But all her cats look as if they've been fed
I thought I saw her walking through the old end of the park
But it could have been the shadows from the trees

And I heard someone say they had taken her away
But I don't know ...
Hey Mrs. Brown where did you go ... Mrs. Brown where did you go ... Mrs. Brown
Where did you go ... Mrs. Brown
Where did you go ... Mrs. Brown
Where did you go ... Mrs. Brown
