Wyndridge Airedales’ goal is to breed dogs that will conform to the breed standard, in temperament as well as conformation. We produce a good looking, versatile terrier that is equally adept at being a well-loved companion dog as it is at participating in any AKC sanctioned event or sport.
Although no breeder can guarantee the lifelong health of an individual dog, we have attempted to avoid genetic problems by breeding only OFA approved dogs and by using breeding stock that is free of persistent health problems. We do not breed any dog that has aggressive or overly-shy tendencies.

Our puppies are raised on a Puppy Head Start program. This set of exercises gives early opportunities to learn by giving them “problem solving” toys such as slides, Kiddie swimming pools, tunnels and different footings as well as treat puzzles that make their minds work. The exposure to new and different activities starts their thinking skills, builds their confidence and enhances their physical and mental development. We also welcome prospective buyers and their families to visit with our pups once they are weaned as we believe socialization is particularly important to young pups. To protect the health of the pups, we do have rules governing visits, however, so please phone well in advance for an appointment.

Like most Airedale breeders, we try to find prospective owners who are interested in utilizing our pups in some useful manner. We encourage our puppies’ involvement in the show ring or competing in obedience work, agility, rally, hunting, tracking or their use as therapy dogs. Our home Airedales have all received obedience training and have been introduced to agility or rally. Several have served as therapy dogs in local rehabilitation centers or as mentors in kindergarten reading groups. We firmly believe that a busy Airedale is a happy dependable dog while a bored Airedale will find some way to entertain itself and may become vocal or destructive.
Lastly, all of our pups are raised with love and receive basic health checks and their first puppy shots before they leave for their new homes. Each litter is also tested for Creatinine and BUN levels by our veterinarian to ensure healthy kidney functions.
A little piece of us goes with every pup that leaves us but they are not forgotten. We offer to set the pup’s ears (if necessary) or, if the new owner is out of our area, we will arrange for a knowledgeable terrier person to handle this task. Each new owner is given basic instruction on the care and grooming of their pup. All owners are encouraged to phone us if they have a question and are invited to bring their pup back to us from time to time so we can observe them as grown dogs. We want our puppy owners to keep in contact with us so we know if our breeding program is successful.
