I was born and raised in the beautiful tropical paradise of San Juan, Puerto Rico. I took my first steps at 8 months of age (or so I hear) and learned to swim before I was 2 years old. I attended pre-school at...Fast Forward 20 years and I got my B.S. in physics from the Univ. of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez where I surfed as much as I could (which probably explains why I extended my time at that institution), became a triathlete and also joined Air Force ROTC so that I became a second lieutenant upon graduation. Conveniently I worked with that same ROTC unit for 9 more months after graduation after which I was shipped to sunny California to become a space and missile student. In one of the great ironies of life (and Air Force sense of humor!) I was shipped to Minot, North Dakota for 3 years to work as a missile officer and help avoid a nuclear attack on our country and destroy the other country if need be, or so I was told.Needless to say the opportunity never arised. In the meantime I traded my surfboard for cross-country skies, shortened my triathlon season signifcantly and started my M.S degree in Space Studies from the Univ. of North Dakota. I was married to my lovely wife Maritza, in 1997 and enjoyed my time in ND with her.
Fortunately for both of us I am currently working as a missile instructor in Vandenberg AFB in California, gone back to the surfboard (cross country skis for sale!) and lengthened my triathlon season (a bit too much, my wife thinks!). I still have the intention of putting that Physics degree to use together with my soon to be acquired M.S.and work in the aerospace industry.
I am an avid lover of outdoor activities, and triathlon is my second love. I love long bike rides through California's central coast and wineries, riding my convertible with my wife on Sundays and blasting through California's mountain twisty roads in my sports bike. Did I mention I really like California?
