Tom Joslyn's Expertise
My Research Areas:
Im looking into the technical mitigation and elimination solutions for orbital debris.
Im focusing on LEO and my first priority is to ensure we can locate all the debris thats
out there. Once we know where it is I hope to use a ground based laser to alter the or-
bit of the debris and induce reentry.
Im studying research NASA and the DOD have done with regards to debris detection
and elimination.
Im also looking at space based radar and optical detection methods for applicability
to LEO and in particular impact prediction for the ISS.
Finally, Im considering ground based lasers and even the USAF Airborne Laser for pos-
sible use as debris eliminators.
