Karl A Vogelheim is an Officer in the Air Force Reserves flying KC-135E Stratotankers. He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors of Arts in History. He also obtained his commission in the United States Air Force as a 2Lt. From there he went on to Navigator training and then the KC-135R at Fairchild AFB, WA. He was on Active Duty for seven and a half years travelling the world during world wide deployments, perfecting his technique in running rendezvous with receiver aircraft to refuel them in flight, and gazing at the stars to find his way home. At the end he of his commitment, he decided to leave the active service to pursue other career paths. He joined the Air Force Reserves at Selfridge ANGB, MI. Since then he has taken part in the University of North Dakota Space Studies (Graduate) program. He has also gone to Pilot training with the AF Reserves where he currently works and flies the aircraft from the front seat.
