SPECIMENS FROM CHINA

There have been thousands of new specimens coming from China in the past 5 years, and we've been fortunate to find many of these at reasonable prices that we can pass on to our customers. Besides those shown here we also have pyrite, pyromorphite, quartz (some enhydros), azurite, and other calcite & fluorite specimens.

NEW!_____Manganoan calcite and quartz, Shimen, Hunan Province, China (#G12-069, $48). Many of these pinkish calcite crystals have a small crystal tip, like a reverse scepter on the top face of the crystal, making them very unusual. This specimen is about 3.5" wide and 2" tall, and the color is more pink than what shows here. We have several of these pretty clusters, priced from $12-$52, with most priced at $30 or less.

NEW!____Manganocalcite, Hunan Province, China (G11-801, $36. This specimen is 3" tall and 2.5" across. Many of the specimens have fine pyrite crystals on them and have a stacked "pagoda" or "poker chip" habit. They fluoresce very well under UV light. We have a large selection of these, ranging in price from $10-40, with most under $20.

____Barite from the Jiangxi Province, China (#G11-009, $42). This specimen is about 4.5" wide by 1.5" tall. Most of these specimens have tiny pyrite crystals within golden-colored barite, which is quite gemmy . Many specimens also have clear-pale purple fluorite, which may be coated with quartz. Some of the specimens with fluorite fluoresce a pale green under short-wave UV light. Prices for these specimens range from $15-$55, with most under $30.

____ Fluorite & quartz on sphalerite, with chalcopyrite and rhodochrosite (G11-275, $40). This one is about 3 inches tall and 5 inches wide, with nice zonation on the fluorites, plus some dark, circular inclusions in the quartz crystals. We have a lot of different fluorites from China, including some gemmy green ones both with quartz crystals and by themselves.

__"DRAGON EGG" (#G10-359, $30)

Fluorite nodules that have been sliced and polished. Most have a core of breccia, surrounded by several layers of purple and green fluorite. Many are translucent and look great when backlit. Most also fluoresce under UV light. We've got a bunch of these, and they sell very quickly. Prices range from $15-$84.

__Stibnite in calcite, Xi Kuang Shan Mine, Hunan Prov., China ( #G10-182, $60). Beautiful stibnite crystals growing through calcite crystals. Very showy pieces. We have several, priced from $30-$60.

____ Pinkish-purple and clear calcite, Fozhichong Mine, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. (#G08-1182, $150). We have several of these ranging in price from $40-$175, with most under $60.

__ Calcite with hematite, Daye District, Hubei Province, China (#G08-1153, $56). We have several others of this type, priced from $25-56.
