Please remember that you are over a mile above sea level and plan your activities accordingly. Drink plenty of water and take your time. We will be contacting those of you who signed up for a cancelled trip.
There will be two organized tours during the day, as listed below. Click on the highlighted tour name to get more information, including costs, about each tour.
- Georgetown Museums and Loop Railroad Ride

On Saturday evening we will have our Gala Banquet at the Denver West Hotel from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. A buffet dinner will be served at the closing presentations and awards ceremony.
September 12-14: Glenwood Springs Post-Reunion Trip

Come join us for a trip back in time to Glenwood Springs and stay at THE HOTEL COLORADO, which opened in 1887. You will spend two nights where Teddy Roosevelt, Molly Brown, Presidents Taft and Harrison, and many other famous people from the past have stayed. In 1977, the hotel entered into THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. Glenwood Springs, located adjacent to the Colorado River, is world-renowned for its extensive hot springs. Remember that the elevation at Glenwood Springs is over 7,000 ft, so be prepared and drink plenty of water.
The 6-hour bus trips from and to Denver will include 2-hour lunch stops near Lake Dillon (elev. 8000 ft). We will travel over THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE thru Eisenhower Tunnel, then over VAIL PASS and thru spectacular GLENWOOD CANYON. The cost of round trip bus ride is $80/person. If you prefer, drive over in a POV and save the bus costs; however, you will miss the on-going presentation on geology, hydrology, and biology during the bus ride.
The hotel (including a full buffet breakfast) will be $132/night -double occupancy. Call the hotel directly at 1-800-544-3998. Ask for the WRD RETIREES GROUP. You will be charged for the first night when you make your reservation.
Buses will leave Denver on Sunday (September 12th) at 9:30 - 10:00 AM, and leave Glenwood Springs to return to Denver at 9:30 -10:00 AM on Tuesday (September 14th).
Monday (September 13th) is a free day. So after breakfast, consider a guided tour of the hotel, a therapeutic dip in the large hot springs pool, a tram ride up to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, or all three. In addition to the hotel dining room, there are several excellent restaurants close by.

You may leave large bags and cars at the Holiday Inn. Also, a block of rooms (40) have been reserved for Tuesday night (September 14th) for people flying out on Wednesday (September 15th) at the same rate that was established above for the reunion. You should make reservation for September 14th when you reserve for September 9th - 11th.
For those of you with a passion for gems, minerals, and or fossils, the Denver Gem and Mineral Show (the second largest show in the country) is scheduled for September 17-19 at the Denver Merchandise Mart (I-25 and 58th Avenue). Click here for more information about the show.
