Owner's description, added 2/21:
1974 Karmann-Ghia convertible - cherry red and in very good condition -
original and excellently maintained - 70K original miles - straight body -
runs great. This last year for K-G, it
handles unlike any of the 6 other K-Gs I have owned - a true sports car.
Top, glass rear window, and headliner all in very good condition. Recent
work includes electronic ignition, new gel battery, starter relay, tune-up
-- the car has always been professionally serviced and cared for. The
original boot, a very handy tonneau cover, a complete car cover, and
assorted parts are included. The back platform has been replaced with a '71
rearseat. This rare find is just plain fun to drive and to own, unless you
do not like compliments and stares. Price: $10.900. Write:

A good friend of mine has decided to pare down his Volkswagen collection. The following cars are for sale (all cars located in Tucson, Arizona):
*1957 Volkswagen Bug Custom
Front 3/4 view This Bug was completed about two years ago. The body and pan are completely rust free and a number of modifications have been performed. The original front end has been exchanged for a 4 bolt Ghia front end with disc brakes and the original splitcase transmission has been replaced with a 1968 swingaxle with Type 3 axles and brake components-wider than T1. The engine is a 2010cc. built by Deano's shop in Glendale AZ. The original front fenders have been smoothed out, as were the rear decklid and apron. The brilliant red paint job and the extensive use of powdercoat white accents are a work of art. Wheels are 8 spoke powdercoated Empis. The interior has been completely redone, including Procar seats and power windows. Asking price: $9000, negotiable.

*1968 Volkswagen Convertible Custom
Front 3/4 view This car is really special to me because I built it. The restoration process was a complete body-off-pan thing and included the detailing of everything. The front end was replaced with a Ghia disc brake front end and the engine is a 1974 stock 1600DP with 47K original miles. As with the 1957 Bug above, there is extensive use of white powdercoat. The interior includes 1967 lowback seats rebuilt in cloth upholstery and full carpeting. The top is pinpoint white vinyl with a black headliner. Asking price: $8750, negotiable.

*1969 Karmann Ghia Roadster
Front 3/4 view This car started out as a coupe and is now set up as a removable hardtop roadster. The hardtop is powdercoated and ready to finish. The roadster version of the car is complete. The paint job on this car was performed by the same shop as the 1957 bug and is perfect. Accent trim is in black powdercoat and the interior is done in charcoal gray. The engine is and 1835 with a mild cam and dual 36-mm. Dellortos. The wheels are aluminum and finished out with aluminum Moon disks. Asking price: $9500, somewhat negotiable.

*T3 Karmann Ghia Convertible Project
Picture How many of these are out there? Not many, I would think. The original hardtop has been removed from this car and the original headlights have been replaced with early T1 buckets. The windshield frame will accept stock T3 glass. A one of a kind project car. Asking price: $1100 negotiable

By the way, I am looking for a number of parts for my '55. I need a decklid (vertical slat), a 'H' rear apron, and the '55 only air cleaner with the strap.
